Certified Specialist in Estate Planning (CSEP)
Becoming a CSEP requires years of specialized training and experience in estate, gift and trust planning and admistration. In addition to planning and administration, I prepare Settlements of Account for court reporting, as well as less formal accountings when court reporting is not required, provide business succession planning, prepare estate, gift and trust tax returns, and assist beneficiaries in resolving disputes.
I will also consider serving as trustee or executor if you feel you need an independent third party to administer your trust or estate. I administer special needs trusts and am knowledgable in the administration of such trusts with regard to the maximization of the beneficiary's public benefits, such as Medi-Cal and federal Supplemental Security Income. For all estates and trusts, I work with experienced and established third parties to provide for the personal well-being and financial needs of the beneficiaries.
Estate Planning
Thoughts of estate planning often bring more questions than answers: Could an heir be too young to inherit? Should the inheritance be given at a certain age? Is the intended beneficiary in a shaky marriage with divorce as a possibility? Are there children from a previous marriage? Should inheritance be protected from potential creditors of the heir? Are there taxes and costs that can be avoided? Are you able to avoid the probate court rules, delays, and costs?
Planning what happens to your estate when you're gone can seem frustrating and intimidating without qualified help.
